Lost my debit card - what are my rights if someone has been using the card?

I'm pretty sure the bank has to err on the side of caution and will have to reimburse you for any expenditures after the date you say you lost it. There are technical ways to prove it wasn't you anyway- the location of the purchase and any alibi you might have etc. it's all traceable so it should be easy to prove it wasn't you. but it'll probably be fine, and you probably won't even have any money missing. just because you lost it doesn't mean some one found it. i lost my card for three days before a realised and had it canceled and it was totally fine.
