I need help with my new action replay D:?

OK so i got pokemon black and an action replay i updated my replay added the codes but every time i try to start the game it doesnt work.!!!!!! i have the oldest ds. and i need help pronto i want to cheat now!!!!! the game wont start in the action replay but it will start without the action replay.
