When antifreeze says "add to ANY color" does that include DEX-COOL?

Be careful with Dex-cool; it managed to ruin a bunch of GM engines. I've never owned a GM, so I'm not sure if it was a materials problem of GM, or a problem with the dex-cool; all I know is that there was an adverse reaction to the various "rubber" parts an the dex-cool erroded a lot of parts in the engine (water pump, various gaskets, etc.)
