Please help with girl problem, easy 10 points?

I like this girl and she is an indie chick and through the course of the year we have become best friends, we are honest with eachother and i was frank with her and told her i like her. She is probably one of my best friends right now and i think asking her out is a stingy idea. We call eachother almost every night and talk for hours about tons of things, and rarely about how we feel about eachother outside of our being good friends to eachother. She told me she has a crush on me but not enough to go out with me right now and she also likes another guy in the same way she says. My friends all think she is the wierdest girl in our school and only a few of them know i like her and i really can't figure out how to tell the ones who make fun of her to cut their **** out. I also can't figure out how i can get this girl to like me enough to go out with me and for it not to be out of some kind of pity. help?
